Client: Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale
Completed: October 2023
Civil Sciences and Engineering were contacted by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale to provide a Road Advocacy Upgrade Plan to be submitted to the federal government for future network funding. The overall objective of the advocacy plan is to improve road safety, reduce crashes and fatalities, and support tourism within the Shire.
Through the analysis of the Shire’s Road network and Main Roads WA crash data, 28 road sections that require urgent upgrade and improvement have been identified. To implement this strategic plan, the Shire was requesting financial support to revamp around 158 kilometres of their local road network.
Civil Sciences and Engineering was first provided road condition survey data and traffic and crash data, which were used to prioritize the Shire's road network for funding. Site inspections were completed to verify the order of prioritization. Designs were undertaken with indicative cost estimations provided for each road. All information was finalised into a report for the Shire and into a final brochure that is submitted to the Government for funding approval.
