Client: City of Wanneroo
Completed: October 2023
Civil Sciences and Engineering was contacted to prepare Commodity Routes Funding Applications for the City of Wanneroo in 2023. Applications were submitted for Badgerup Road, Hawkins Road, and Townsend Road.
Guidelines are set out from Main Roads WA and WALGA to state parameters governing the Commodity Routes Fund. Commodity Routes are defined as routes where there is a significant high priority transport task associated with the transport of a commodity such as grain, timber, agricultural lime, iron ore, etc. The funding is intended for roads that require upgrading or maintenance to accommodate the commodity transport function.
Civil Sciences and Engineering first provided onsite inspections to assess road condition and geometry. Once completed, traffic data was analysed and pavement designs and cost estimates were completed for each road. Application forms were then completed for the submission and sent to the client for final approval.
