Badgerup Road Widening - Detailed Design

The City of Wanneroo engaged CSE to carry out the detailed design for the widening of Badgerup Road. The scope included a site survey of the existing road and surrounding features. The survey pick up was carried out with a GNSS rover utilising the CORS network for RTK corrections to provide survey grade accuracy. Data was collected to establish road edges, centreline and shoulders as well as all features out to the road reserve boundary. The survey data was processed and analysed to provide a 3D CAD model, which was then used for the basis of the design.

The design scope comprised of two parts – firstly pavement investigation and evaluation, followed by the detailed design and documentation. A road condition assessment was done and traffic data evaluated with project scope defined and upgrade treatments recommended with cost estimations. The detailed design was carried out on the City’s preferred treatment, with works comprising a design drawings, scope and methodology documentation as well as quantity surveying and cost estimations.
